My blog, season 2: more variety, more substance, more originality

After six months of blogging every Saturday with my WWW (WeeklyWritingWrapup), it was time for a review. Changes incoming!

Going forward, the topical/”opinion” piece of the WWW will split off and become its own entity, no longer burdened by a short deadline, a clunky non-relevant title, and the self-imposed restrictions of the format.

Previously, opportunities for deeper dives were limited. My full-time job and novel writing meant I usually couldn’t devote enough time within a week to delve into subjects that need nuance and/or research.

Going forward, I may skip posting for a week in order to produce a more substantial piece. Or I may skip posting because something else needs my time, like the last stages of revisions on my next book.

Or I may post twice in a week if I should be so inspired.

Freedom from the WWW format allows more variety.
I may post more book reviews from an author’s perspective.
I have plans for a series about the books, games, films, TV shows, songs, and artists that have inspired me, and what authors can learn from each of them.
If there’s an event, news story, or anniversary I want to write about, I can post on the day rather than the nearest Saturday.

Less limits, more flexibility. More posts with creativity and curiosity to the fore.

I’m looking forward to it.

I have a long list of topics I want to cover, and I hope you’ll find them as interesting as I do. If there’s a subject you want me to write about, please let me know in the comments or by reaching out on social media.

For those who still want to follow the progress of my novels, the WWW is set to continue, and will include an update on my writing week, the status of my current project(s), interesting links related to the universe of The Spike, and something that’s inspired me over the previous seven days.

Thanks for reading.
